It’s late. I’m laying in bed in the spare bedroom at my parents house. Everyone else in my family is already asleep. We are exhausted from the long day of packing and moving out of our house.
Today started at 5am when I awoke for a “last run” with my friend, who is also my neighbor, Tom. We ran our usual route. It was dark. And quiet.
As we ran through our dark neighborhood, our movement turned on the motion-detected lights on the houses. Ahead of us it was dark. But behind us we left a well-lit trail.
I suppose it’s similar to the journey our family has embarked upon. A journey into the darkness. Into the unseen. The unknown.
We will trust the light.
And when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left, your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” – Isaiah 30:21 (NRSV)
