Lent: Day 2

Lent: Day 2

This will not be a Lenten-lessons series of posts. This is my own journaling during Lent. It’s important I make that distinction for myself. In my effort toward a lived-out confession, I’m not seeking to write FOR anyone…I hope to simply write FROM within. I offer these words as an invitation into shared life: vulnerable and known.

Last week I read this Maya Angelou quote, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” And this morning I read Zachariah’s words in Luke 1:57-80. Zachariah had been without words for months. He became mute with the shocking news of unexpected life change. And it was only after he wrote down “His name is John” that Spirit-infused words once again came to him.

It’s time to tell some stories. And it’s time to name the future.
