A Thin Line

Standard

A Thin Line

Heaven and earth,

God’s presence and our own.

Separated only by a thin line.

Not a wall or a barrier,

Not a whisper or a prayer.

Just a very thin line.

Sacred moment and a scared child,

Each sharing the same chair.

A very thin line.

The blossoming of flowers,

Above fertilized dirt.

A very thin line.

The gift of grace,

Amidst offense.

A very thin line.

The humble and the hurried,

Each fully aware of self.

Marked by a thin line.
