And goodbye is bitter…but I trust and hope that we will see more of Jon at nbc…come back Jon…come back.
Donnie is cool…and he is a great picture of Christ in his community. I was pumped to hear about what is happening in their church community as they tackle the moving target of participation in intentional discipleship. Pray for them as they transition and grow together as a community.
I have been wearing out this page…you need to check it out.
I doubt a lot. I doubt God, others, but most often I doubt myself…and often it holds me back from what God has in mind. No doubt that I have missed some of God’s plans by doubting His ability to provide and guide. So when I read Perry Noble’s great post yesterday it has stuck with me…what is holding you back?
Ok…every once in a while you see or read something and think to yourself, “That’s what I am talking about…!” Today, I had one of those moments. Over the last year at nbc…we have been re-imagining church…talking about what could and should be…dreaming about the 7 day a week church rather than the 1 hour a week experience we have made church to be. Check out this promotional video for a place call Soul City Church and then comment about what it triggers in your little mind…let’s talk.
Summer is ending and the vacations are finished…(sniff, and my little boy starts preschool in about a week). I am super duper pumped about the fall series here at nbc. We have partnered with these guys and are using this as we take a journey through the beatitudes. In our efforts to become a community devoted to Christ-likeness…this is a step forward into God’s future for us. I love the fact that we are moving “church” into the other 6 days of our lives. This is going to be great.
Donnie Miller is a cool chap and fellow pastor here in KC. I love his heart for the Kingdom and his dedication to the local church. Donnie and I meet every month and talk about life, struggles, temptations, failures, wins, and dreams.
Drew is my hero…well almost. He doesn’t know it, but this guy is super gifted…and he just started to find himself through writing. Drew…I am counting on you to keep blogging…tell the stories…
Matt has left the building…and is on his way to Africa. You can keep up with his journey…
Our church just signed up with these guys…and I am stoked about how much it is going to improve the way we manage communication and organization around the church…good stuff, and more to come!
Today I read about a new tool for my spiritual development…look here…it is very similar to the other site that I use daily. Just wondering…do you use an online devotional, online Bible, or spiritual journal? I find it interesting that I read more scripture from a screen than from paper.
We are using some great resources from NPH in a couple of classes on Sunday mornings at nbc…check this discipleship series out…
And just for kicks…here is a link that I think everyone should know about…
