Monday Musing – September 28th
- A ton of thoughts in my head on this Monday. But first things first…Whodey!
- Yesterday we finished our journey through the beatitudes. I will miss this series…God has truly worked in my heart to form a different perspective of what it means to follow him. Hopefully it has reshaped our language and given us a picture of what could be in a life of Christ-likeness.
- God beggars, posture of confession, God-led, mercy exchange, peace-makers, sacrificial givers…these are just a few of the words that have become part of our common language at nbc.
- Unfortunately, there is no way for me to ever take back a simple syllable slip in the word “incense.” The message will forever be marked as the “incest” day.
- Maybe my embarrassment was just preparation for our upcoming series…because in the “Transparent” series we will be talking openly about nakedness, sin, sex, pornography, addictions, shame, guilt, and lost glory.
- Did I mention the Bengals won? If not for a fluke play in week one…
- BTW if you were looking for a reason to invite your friends to church…invite them to this series and just tell them we will be talking about being naked this week…

Shane,
I get Whodey!
Thank you for sending this note, it gave me a good chuckle as I am still in the hospital with Mackenzie. If I had been in service I am sure you would have heard me laugh! “Can you hear me now?!” I love that you can laugh at yourself. Looking forward to the next series.

You’ll have to explain what you mean by “fluke play in week one.” What I saw (by replay of course) was a visiting team that put itself in position to win…

All I will say, is I felt your pain. I have done ssoo many of those slip ups. But it was priceless

You and your fluke nonsense, the only fluke in that game is that we made the bengals think they had a chance against the broncos
